the power of belief is something inherently engrained in the soul of every brand, but none more prominent than that of nike.

unable to find his ‘thing’ selling encyclopedia’s, phil embarked on a journey to japan that would not only shape the rest of his life, but also change the world as we know it.

the story of nike is one of immense personal trust, resilience and persistence. it’s a true testament to the power we all have within us to set a goal and relentlessly pursue it, despite any roadblocks. this phil quote is my absolute favorite and i think it sums up what has made nike successful, and what has inspired me to be a part of it.

belief is something nike has mastered over the course of its history. from leading the way with innovative product, to capitalizing on key sport moments, every action nike takes is to create belief and devotion in the minds of its consumers. there’s something innately human about our allegiance to things that make us feel. we are motivated by so many intrinsic things that vary from person to person, but nothing in the world motivates us like our ability to establish a personal emotional tie to something.

that… is nike. product rooted in innovation, and based on stories to make people believe in the best version of themselves. nike has never sold a thing, for 51 years they’ve made us believe that we can become our best us with a simple swoosh.
